The following are common malfunctions that may occur during the operation of a shot blaster: Poor Blasting Effect: This may be caused by insufficient shot volume, wear or damage to the blast wheel or blades, unsuitable or excessively worn abrasive media. Solutions: Check the shot volume and ensure adequate media supply. Inspect the blast wheel blades and replace damaged ones promptly. Use appropriate abrasive media and avoid over-worn shot. Excessive Noise: Possible causes include damaged blast wheel or bearings, loose bolts, improper part installation, or uneven abrasive media size. Solutions: Regularly inspect the blast wheel and bearings, replacing them if necessary. Check fasteners to ensure all bolts and components are properly installed and tightened. Use uniformly sized shot to avoid large irregular particles. Overheating of the Blast Wheel Motor: This may result from motor overload, poor heat dissipation, bearing damage, or insufficient lubrication. Solutions: Check the motor load to prevent overloading. Clean cooling fans or vents to ensure proper heat dissipation. Replace bearings regularly and maintain proper lubrication. Blade Damage: Blades are the most vulnerable components due to continuous abrasive impact. Solutions: Replace worn or damaged blades promptly. Ensure new blades are of consistent quality and weight. Impeller (Distributor Wheel) Damage: If the impeller wears beyond 15mm, it should be replaced immediately to avoid affecting the scattering angle of the shot, accelerating liner wear, and reducing cleaning efficiency. Solutions: Regularly inspect the impeller for wear and replace it if excessively worn. Blast Wheel (Turbine) Damage: Wear or improper installation of the blast wheel can cause vibration and noise. Solutions: Regularly check for wobbling or wear and replace severely worn blast wheels. Seal Damage: Damaged seals compromise the blaster’s sealing performance. Solutions: Periodically inspect and replace worn seals.
