A shot blasting machine separates the shot mixture using a two-stage vertical conveyor and an abrasive/contaminant separator.
The shot blasting machine operates by using a slot blasting module that includes a casing housing at least one hoodless abrasive throwing wheel assembly. This module is preferably door-mounted and is designed to communicate with a blast cabinet module. The machine also includes a two-stage vertical conveyor, which is an endless belt with two parallel rows of buckets. One row directs spent abrasive and contaminants delivered from the blast cabinet module into the shot blasting module and into the separator, while the other row simultaneously delivers clean abrasive to the mixing chamber for the compressed air and blasting shot. The machine further comprises a compressed air supply, a blasting shot supply, a compressed air valve, and a shut-off valve, all working together to effectively separate the shot mixture.
